XT4 - Live TV audio from HDMI - satellite receiver

Hello all,

Just looking for some guidance on where to turn.  I'm having issues with the audio, and I'm not sure where to turn.  I'm using a full screen, 1 zone test presentation to ensure no other variables.  The video looks great, no issues.  But I've got no audio.

What should my settings be in the satellite receiver.  A test with a TV indicates it is definitely outputting audio via HDMI (no analog or secondary digital like coax or optical).

Satellite options include PCM only / Dolby Digital only or both.

There may be other options if I go looking.

As for the zone properties options, up until today, the passthrough button was greyed out.  Now I can select either stereo or passthrough, but neither provide audio.

HDMI is definitely checked.

If I add a video to this presentation, the audio plays, so it is definitely a question of the HDMI in either not processing the audio properly or not routing it to the the HDMI out.

Thanks!

This sounds more like a firmware difference rather than a hardware fault.  Any suspected hardware issues need to be diagnosed by support in a ticket before an RMA can be issued, whether for vendor or direct replacement.

I'm opening a support ticket from this post for you.

Double click the External Video object, click the advanced tab, and add the audio settings?

I just checked a Presentation we wrote that has a UHD/HD output from a cable set top box to the XT1144. In.  The Live Video object doesn't have any audio settings attached to it but audio still works so I am not sure what to tell you.  Oddly, you can attach the audio settings as I mention above...just that they might not be necessary.

Wanted to provide an update... everyone probably read this bewildered because it should work instantly, almost regardless of setting.

    You're right.

I was fortunate to have two units, one which was doing the live TV presentation and the other not.  To rule out a hardware issue, we swapped presentations.  Worked instantly.  There's an issue with one of the units.

They are only 2 months old (took a while to get installed), could the moderators chime in about the proper process to get it replaced? Do I go through my reseller/vendor?

    Thanks,
