I am re-visiting an easier way to trigger video and image file playback from an HD223. I am triggering with UDP from a Crestron control system.
What I need is the ability to trigger any video or image at any time, even while a video is playing or an image in on screen.
Previously I was putting every media file in an Interactive Playlist, and then putting a UDP trigger from every file to every other file. This was fine for a 20 or so files, but now I have about 50 files and this is going to get messy and confusing.
So I found a previous reply to a previous post, and Lyndon's video and example project is very helpful and this approach looks super easy, but here is what I can't figure out:
- How can I have a Video Play File AND an Image Play File and accept UDP triggers from either? It only allows me to create one UDP trigger from my home state to one destination.
- Does this approach allow UDP triggers while media is playing or only if it is on the Home state?
- Can I put images in a Video Play File widget so I only have one state?
Is there an easier way to do this with scripting? I haven't touched scripts with BrightSign so any pointers or examples would be great. This all seems very powerful, but at the end of the day, all I want to do is load up 50 files on the SD card and trigger with "play movie01.mp4".
