BrightSign Author writes new-sync.xml instead of current-sync.xml file

For some reason BrightSign Author 4.7.2.12 creates a new-sync.xml file instead of current-sync.xml file in Simple File Network mode. Any idear?

Best regards,

Hmm... following.  We are having an issue with some SFN players not pulling down new content.  I wonder if this is the reason.

Deinstalling BrightSign Author 4.7.2.12 and installing 4.7.1.4 solved the problem.

That's somewhat normal folks.  Remember that the new schedule is not applied until it is received in its entirety, which means it's downloaded as a temporary new-sync.xml until it's time to switch over.  Then new-sync.xml replaces current-sync.xml and the new schedule is in effect.

If the new schedule data is still being dowloaded, new-sync.xml will remain until the new schedule data is fully stored.

Now there could be a bug with cleanup of new-sync or some other bug related to receiving all the content, but the fleeting existence of new-sync.xml is usually normal.

    Hi Brandon,

    than something has changed.

Author 4.7.1.4 writes a current-sync.xml file into the local server directory.

Author 4.7.2.12 writes a new-sync.xml file into the local server directory.

Because the setup of the player has not changed, he is looking for the urrent-sync.xml file. Do I need to update the firmware of the player to use Author 4.7.2.12?

    Best regards,

    Robert
