Can i publish presentation need to input the password every time? Because the security.

  Local network.  Now BrightAuthor just input the username and password once, it will remembered. But i need input password every time when i need to publish.

  Sorry but I'm not familiar with that situation.

  Is it BrightAuthor that is asking for authentication, or is it Windows asking for admin login, as if you were installing something?

  Anyone can run brightauthor,  but i can not allow anyone to publish the presentation. if i need to,  i must input the right password.

  The username and password specified from right-click Specify Username / Password in BrightAuthor's Publish tab, Local Network view (for Local File Networking) is stored in the BrightAuthor user preferences which is specific to that particular Windows user login.

  So unless one of the following is true, whoever is using BrightAuthor would have known the username/password at some point

  • more than one person is sharing the same Windows user login
  • you're leaving your terminal unlocked and unattended while logged in
  • someone else walked over and entered the username/password for the user

  If you really don't want the credentials to persist, you could have a user login script or scheduled tasks clear/delete BrightSignUnits.xml in %localappdata%\BrightSign\BrightAuthor\VersionNumber (where VersionNumber is the version of BrightAuthor, like 4.7.2.12) or replace it with a copy that does not include the credentials.

  Another question,  can i modify the publish password via BrightAuthor easy?  I can't through re-setup unit the player to do that, just need to modify the publish password.
