Hi,
I have an HD210 that has no picture. The Red LED, Err, is blinking 5 times.

I installed firmware 3.10.57 and 3.11.11 in safe mode.

I notice that the firmware installation was completed at the end when the player restarts back with the same error, 5 flashes of the Red LED.

Can you give me a solution?

    Hello!

    The LED flashing red five times indicates "Failed to load kernel module".

    Do you have another SD card that you could publish the presentation to?

    HD110, HD210(w), HD410, HD810, HD1010(w)

    • Green Power (Pwr): Displays when the board is powered up and not in reset mode.
    • Green File-System Activity (Bsy): Flashes any time there is file-system activity (on any storage device).
    • Yellow Update (Upd): Flashes when the board is being upgraded. The Update and Error LEDs will flash in unison to indicate that a player cannot connect to the BSN servers during the setup or recovery process (see this FAQ for more details). The red and yellow flash codes may also describe an error during the firmware update process:
      • 2 Erase failed
      • 3 Write failed
      • 4 Verify failed
      • 5 Partition mismatch
      • 6 Checksum failed
      • 7 Unexpected failure
      • 8 Failed to save/restore SRB
    • Red Error (Err): Flashes a number of times to indicate which error is occurring. The flash codes are described below:
      • 2 Unspecified error
      • 3 Network recovery script is preparing to run on a device configured for network recovery
      • 3 No published content or script on the SD card
      • 4 No upgrade file found
      • 5 Failed to load kernel module
      • 6 Board is not capable of running the current firmware version
      • 7 Problem related to the Ethernet chip
      • 8 Problem related to the storage device (either a USB drive or SD card)
      • 9 Problem related to the registry/EEPROM
      • 10 The autorun script encountered a load/run error (commonly caused by a locked or NTFS-formatted SD card)
      • 11 WiFi-related error
    • Red/Yellow Combined: The Update (Upd) and Error (Err) LEDs may flash in unison to indicate that a player cannot connect to the BSN servers during the setup or recovery process (see this FAQ for more details).     Monica,
    I published the presentation on another SD card. It didn't work either.
    It still has the same error, 5 flashes in the red LED.

    Is there anything else I can do to fix this error?

    Which version of BrightAuthor did you use to publish the presentation?

    It was exactly the version I used, BrightAuthor 3.8.0.41.

    And for Firmware I used 3.10.57.

    Hmm... try doing a factory reset on the device.  The Firmware 3.11.11 should normally work very well.  We've used it with HD210 and HD1010s still pretty successfully.

    Also ensure that the SD card is formatted as Fat32.  :)

    I had also used Firmware 3.11.11. It also did not work.

    Failure to load the kernel would indicate a hardware issue especially if the firmware updated successfully and you still get the error.

    No.  We do not have repair facilities and those models are heading on 10 years old now.

    Bandon,

    This player, HD210, is part of an installation with 5 others forming a single image in sync, like a videowall.

    Can you tell me if I can replace the defective player with an HD222?

    Setup only plays a single video in sync that is looped.

    If you are using BrightAuthor 3.8 that should work.

    If you are using BrightAuthor 3.7, the autorun will not recognize the HD222 and it will show an error message on start.

    If you ever need to replace older, discontinued units, you can usually find them on eBay.
