New Project - Video Kiosk

I am starting a new project and I need a little kick start to head in the right direction.  This is a project for the USS Turner Joy Naval Museum Ship in Bremerton Washington.

I am using a Bluefin 10" BSBI touch screen as a menu and an LS424 to render videos to a large TV.  

I want to load a bunch of videos into the LS424 and then have the user select a video from a menu on the Bluefin touch screen and have it then play on the the TV.  At the end of the selected video, I want it to jump to another presentation consisting of several videos in a loop.

I will need to set up communications between the Bluefin touch screen BrightSign Player (HS124) so that the selected video is communicated to the LS424 which will then play that video.

The first thing I need help with is how to configure the LS424.  I assume I would use Interactive mode.  Do I use a Media List?   

I am using BrightAuthor.

I would appreciate any ideas and advice on this project.

    Thanks for responding.

    I completed another video kiosk project (your number 105703) a few months ago using a 22.5" BlueFin BSBI touch screen that Lyndon helped me with.  It's working great.  It consists of five videos, and about 700 images.

    I am a retired electronics engineer that worked on the design and production of airborne fire control radar systems for 35 years.  I have done programming with visual basic, various scripting languages, some python, php, html, C++ and fortran and probably a few more that I forgot.  I can do some programming but my strength is more with hardware design.  I'm also a ham operator.

    As I understand it, this new project I am working on now will require some UDP comms between the BlueFin touch screen and the LS424.

    I've loaded the LS424 with an mp4 video with the correct resolution for the TV that I am using for development and published from BrightAuthor but for some reason it's not rendering the video.  There's probably some setting that is incorrect.  The presentation properties show the correct resolution.  It's a little frustrating that I can't get by this after having done the other project.  I've slipped back down the learning curve I guess.

    Thanks for the detailed intro. That's quite an impressive resume.

    Could you share the BrightAuthor file you have for the player connected to the TV?

    Also, do you happen to use github or similar remote repo?

    When trying to download, getting "File is uploading..." from the Dropbox UI.

    There is no need to include any media files. The BrightAuthor file would suffice.

    Can you assign a job to this project so we can take it off the open forum?  Is Lyndon still on the job?

    I noticed that the resolution of your presentation is 1440x900. Was that intentional? Is that the native resolution of your display?

    Yes it is 1440x900.
