Hi

I would like to be able to reboot and also mute brightsigns using the android Brightsign app. Is this possible and how do you do it?

Thank you

    Hello,

The BrightSign App (for both Android and iOS) primarily communicates with BrightSign players on your local network using UDP (User Datagram Protocol) packets. This means you need to configure your BrightSign presentation to "listen" for specific UDP commands from the app and then perform the desired action (like rebooting or muting).

I found your breakdown of rebooting a BrightSign device through the mobile app really practical, especially the way you explained the difference between a soft reboot and a full power cycle. It’s one of those small maintenance steps that can resolve playback glitches, network sync issues, or content update delays without overcomplicating things. I also appreciated the reminder to check network connectivity and device status before triggering a restart, since that often saves unnecessary troubleshooting time. It’s interesting how even something as simple as a reboot can restore smooth performance—kind of like refreshing your setup before presenting something polished, like Dubai Chocolate Strawberries at an event. Have you noticed if remote reboots through the app are just as reliable as doing it directly on the BrightSign player?
