Sync Video in different zone

Hi everyone,

I have set 3 zone to my XT1145

Zone 1 is Background (Image) 2496*1872 X:0 Y:0

Zone 2 is Video Left (Video) 1054*1872 X:0 Y:0

Zone 3 is Video Right (Video) 1054*1872 X:1442 Y:0

I'm trying to loop videos on zone 2, while zone 3 playing the exact same contents, but the 2 zone video and audio are not sync, resulting zone 3 video and audio play slightly behind

What's the best solution? I wish 1 can create Layer instead of zone, as layer in video switcher can have more than 1 zone in a layer.

Thanks

You could avoid the undesired effect by muting the audio in zone 3, leaving audio playing from zone 2 only.

    Hello,

It sounds like you're encountering a common challenge when trying to perfectly synchronize video playback across multiple zones on a single BrightSign XT1145 player. While the XT1145 is a powerful player capable of dual 4K video decoding, achieving frame-perfect synchronization, especially with audio, can sometimes require specific settings and content preparation.

Here's a breakdown of why you might be experiencing this and the best solutions:

Understanding the XT1145's Capabilities and Limitations

Dual 4K Decoding: The XT1145 can indeed decode two 4K videos simultaneously. This is what allows you to have Zone 2 and Zone 3 playing separate video streams.

Zone vs. Layer: You're right to wish for "layers" like in a video switcher. In BrightSign, "zones" are distinct playback areas. While you can layer zones on top of each other (e.g., a smaller video zone over a background image zone), achieving perfect sync between two independent video zones, especially with audio, is more complex than a single video file being split and output to different areas.

Hardware and Software Synchronization: BrightSign players have advanced synchronization features, but these are primarily designed for multi-player synchronization (e.g., video walls where multiple players drive different screens) or for specific video wall presentations (BrightWall). For multiple video zones on a single player, perfect frame-to-frame and audio-to-audio sync requires careful media preparation and potentially some scripting.
