BrightSign as webserver?

Is it possible to use the BrightSign XT245 as a webserver or do you need a BrightSign Connect subscription for this. I am windering how easy (or not) I could implement professional display by for example showing live Buienradar information on the display instead of using RSS feeds.

The player can be used as a web server through use of custom plugin.

No, the BrightSign XT245 cannot act as a web server on its own; it's designed to be a client that displays content from a server. You don't need a BrightSign Connect subscription to show live Buienradar information. You can use the player's built-in HTML5 engine to display a webpage, either a static one or a custom-built dashboard that pulls live data from an external source. This method allows you to show dynamic content easily without needing the device to host a server itself.
