We would like to update the brightsign device from a POS android computer (Zebra TCxx). We want a workflow as follows: retail manager downloads signage update, manager reviews and approves update, manager plugs Zebra TCxx into Brightsign (using USB cable), Brightsign updates (as if a USB thumb drive had been inserted).
It appears that the device can only accept an update from a location like \update and that the XML files must be in the root of the drive. The android internal storage root is not writable (for security reasons), so we want to be able to have the brightsign look in an alternate location, which can be hard coded.
Network/wifi update is not an option for us because the client has a strict policy on connecting signage to the internet or even local network; they want to review all content before it is posted and want to physically control the connection.
