LAN publising issues - Video won't load

We are having trouble getting our video file to load/show up on our display. We are publishing via LAN, everything else updates and is viewable except for the video.

The video shows up in our local brightauthor preview. I have been successful in having video load in brightsign units that are standalone. I am not sure why this has become problematic when updating via LAN.

Do I need to restart the brightsign units? If anyone can help me with this, I would appreciate it.

If you place that video file on an empty SD card and boot up the player, does it play?

Avoid any special characters in the file name.

Video works when on a SD card. There are no special characters in the file name.

There may be a corrupt version of that file already on the SD card.

Try to format the SD card, and repeat the player setup process.

That would force BA to copy a fresh version of the file.

For troubleshooting, create a basic presentation, that only loops the problem file.

Alternatively, you could locate the copied file in the pool directory, and remove it.

By examining the local-sync.xml file, you should be able to locate the file in the pool, and remove it.

If it is too complicated, then simply go with the format, and setup procedure.

    How large is your file?

Files larger than approx 1 GB I still  not have been (since 6 years) able to upload via LAN. But this generate an  error. So maybe not same problem

    The file is 184MB.

I appreciate you guys taking the time to reply to me. I will try the reformat next week after the weekend. We did try to test with brightsign's own test video but that didn't show up either. As suggested here: http://support.brightsign.biz/hc/en-us/articles/218064647-My-video-files-don-t-play-on-the-BrightSign-player

We had the same issue, looked fine in preview but video would not upload/update.

You should be able to publish large files over the network with the latest brightathor. SOme customers are publishing 2 - 4GB files without issues. The largets file I've tried to publish locally is about 2GB.

Usually there's some firewall or antivirus program blocking the player if you can't publish files. What security software are you running?  Does the file fail to start publishing? or does it start and then fails along the way?
