Touchscreen buttons over top of video

We're looking at potentially using 13 Brightsign 810's or 1010's for an upcoming project. Each unit will be connected to a 19" touchscreen where the user has the ability to select from either a series of videos, or simply language selection in the case of stations that only have one video. It seems the basic navigation we are after is possible with these units and BrightAuthor (we downloaded it and have been playing around), but I can't seem to find any confirmation of whether or not it's possible to add navigation buttons over top of a video once it's playing? Or how it would work? Here's the navigation we're after: Attract Loop with 2 buttons for language selection (English / French) Once language is selected, the user is taken to a menu that gives them an option of 3-6 videos they can play. When they select a video, I'd like the ability to have a 'home' or 'back' button that would take the user to the menu selection. If no input is detected after say 1 minute on the menu, the unit flips back to the attract loop. In addition to the 'back' or 'home' button, we're also curious about adding play/pause, fast forward, and rewind buttons as well (although those aren't critical). I assume the actual graphic of the button would need to be incorporated into the video, and then using Bright Author we can specify a protion of the screen that would correspond to those buttons? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks. Mike.

    Yes, this can be done.

You can create image zones that will float above the video background, automatically. Using the link zones feature pressing a Play button in one zone can send a command to the main zone to play a file.

We got our test unit yesterday and have been playing with it.  So far, we are really impressed.

With regard to my previous post, what we are after really is the ability to swap a button state so the user has some visual feedback when they touch a button.  It doesn't seem this is possible, but i did see the ability for a roll over region - but we couldn't figure out how to use it.  It isn't a deal breaker but from a UX stand point, most people expect some kind of visual or audio feedback when a button is pressed.  Would the rollover region allow us to create something like that with a touchscreen, or is it something that is designed just for mouse input?  Either way how does the rollover region work?  The idea is to have a button sitting on top of a video to return to a menu, ideally when the user pushes the menu button the button would highlight for feedback, then return to the menu.

    Thanks.

when the video is playing the transport control buttons will remain over the video, correct?
But, once the unit returns to the main menu, all of those transport controls go away?

THe rollover isn't button activated, but activated by your finger or mouse moving over a specific region.

It might be possible to do this with some customization but I don't fully understand which buttons are present when.

Sorry for the confusion.  Let me simplify what we are trying to do.

Forget my original post - with zones we have kind of figured out how to add the image zones over the video to create a "button."

Basically what we are trying to determine is if we can make that "button" highlight when touched.  For example:  If a menu has 4 buttons on it (touch screen), when pressed we would like the button to change color to indicate that it has been pressed.  Once pressed, a full screen video is played with a button to return to the previous menu, which is sitting over the video in one corner. Again, that menu button would highlight when pressed.

We have defined touch regions and figured out how to get that working fine, but we would like to have some visual feedback when an area of the screen is touched.  The rollover region doesn't have any info in any documentation that we could find and we are unsure to what extend we can use it and for what...
