Elo Touchscreen not connecting to Brightsign

Hi there

I'm using an Elo 4343l and a Brightsign LS424

I can get image through to the Elo just fine, but the touch does not work. When I insert the calibration script appear "check screen is connected".

At this point;

  • I have had to adapt the USB from the Elo to USB C to connect into the Brightsign.
  • I have added a Powered USB hub into the connection as per other suggestions.
  • I have run both the calibration script and the "TouchCapture" Script, captured the log files, and will send off. - The test ran, but still nothing.
  • I have changed all the order of how things are plugged and and turned on; USB before power, Touch screen first on power, player first on power, all together... etc...
  • Have turned debug cursor show on in Presentation Properties.
  • It is definitely an interactive project in Brightsign.

I feel I have exhausted the forums at this point, and would love a bit of a steer in the right direction here, please.

Any input is much appreciated.

I read this post and realized I had yet to try touch on the HD1024 or LS424.  I have several Elo ET4202L so I made a quick touch Presentation and connected everything up and it worked with the USB-A connector direct and through a Pluggable 4 port powered USB hub.  Also tried the 1024 with a Samsung touch screen and that worked.

I hooked up the LS424 to the same Elo via that USB-C to USB-A/3.5mm adapter and that worked also.

I do not have your model Elo but we have used many model Elo displays with the Gen3 players with no issues.

We have had some failures on USB touch to Planar touchscreens with so far a total of six different LS424s.  It seems hit or miss.  Check your logs when it is running (goto Diagnostic web server > logs) and check for USB errors.

    Cheers,
    Monica

Same problem here with ViewSonic touchscreen.

Before buying the Brightsign HD1024 device I asked if it was compatible with our ViewSonic screens.
    Answer received:

To verify whether the touchscreen is compatible, you should connect it to the BrightSign player via USB and test. Everything else is just guessing.

Apparently it doesn't work. With a better support we would have known this in advance. With 26 Brightsigns devices already deployed (no touchscreens) now we are obligated to look for an alternative for our future purchases.

If you connect to a Windows PC does the touch work?

Apologies, I should have asked if you had connected the touch screen to a Windows PC to confirm it works...its early here and I am on my first cup of coffee...

I immediately removed my question as soon I realized you mean't the touchscreen. I switched cables, used different ports, HDMI instead of display port and at one point everything works fine. Thank for quick replies and enjoy your coffee.
